I've know these two outgoing girls for over 10 years. I met their dad 23 years ago when he crashed in the snowboard park and I called for ski patrol. He ended up breaking his neck. We didn't stay in touch after the crash, but there was always a tether of some sort to keep our connection. His sister witnessed me get hit by a car on my bike and helped. I became friends with his older sister in Portland. Eventually, after a decade our paths would align through my children and his children and we would become close friends. Marley, pictured here jumping, and Avery, sitting on the rock have joined in on countless adventures. Marley is one of the best jiu jitsu girls in her age group and had aspirations to become an MMA fighter, but that has subsided; kinda happy she isn't pursuing that. Avery is an incredibly skateboarder and tough as nails, she also loves to cook. I watched her take a hard fall skateboarding and break a bone her hand, she didn't shed a tear. As tough as they are, they are really humble and sweet too.
