BROKEN TOP SUMMIT

Started the day around 2am in hopes of reaching the summit before sunrise.  This volcano is a pretty straight forward hike/climb except for the last 200’ vertical, there is crumbly rock and few daunting moves, especially in the dark.

Made it to the top at dawn on a windless morning, happy. Although I have hiked Broken Top before, never for sunrise and I am glad I did, the view was incredible!

You are viewing the right arm as I call it with Mt. Bachelor in the background. I have spent countless hours on this volcano in the Winter, shooting snowboarding and skiing, and viewing it in the Summer was peaceful, reminiscing of past times and simply just being alone.
