CRATER LAKE NOVEMBER

I shot the sunrise image you are viewing Wednesday, November 27th, 2024. This is Crater Lake and one of the snowiest November’s in recent history (the last 100 years).

Some people think I’m crazy to wake up early, for this trip it was 2am. I don’t think I’m crazy for waking up early to hopefully view what you are viewing here, I think it’s crazy to know this exists and not want to see it live.

I was with two of my friends, Elijah and Ian, both of which had never been to Crater Lake during the snowy months. They trusted me, woke up early and made the journey. Although it was 7 degrees when we started the day, we were warmed by the sun and the sheer gorgeousness. The three of us enjoyed this beautiful moment and then split boarded to a nearby peak and snowboarded all day.

I could write a small article on what we experienced in the 17hr. day, but I won’t...we have this picture and a few others that are worth the words.
